History

The NCETM is a major initiative funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (formerly the DfES) to enhance professional development for mathematics teachers, established in response to the recommendations of ACME (Advisory Committee on Mathematics Education) and those made in Professor Adrian Smith's report 'Making Mathematics Count'

People

Behind the virtual presence of the National Centre through this portal, there is a team of people working directly with schools, colleges, organisations, networks, the government and everyone involved in mathematics education. Meet the NCETM team

Stakeholders and Partners

All teachers and lecturers of mathematics are considered stakeholders of the NCETM. Register with the portal, so that you can appear on the NCETM Members page.  For links to NCETM Stakeholder Organisations and Partners click here

Strategy

Working with the wider mathematics community, we will facilitate, enhance and provide strategic direction and leadership for all aspects of continuing professional development in mathematics. Further information about NCETM and its strategy can be found in the NCETM Annual Report 2006/7
